The cosmopolitan town of Limassol situated between Paphos and Larnaca, boasts an array of blue flag beaches, providing second to none facilities.
Simply put….. pack a towel and you are on your way for a fun day out under the sun!
1. Lady’s Mile – Blue Flag Beach
Located along the east side of Akrotiri Limassol, enjoy 5 km coastal stretch of stunning, unspoiled sands and shallow waters.
The beach took its name from the mare of the governor during British rule, who used to ride along the beach. Today, the area is well-known locally for its restaurants of fresh fish and traditional Cypriot cuisine. Some of the restaurants offer their own additional facilities, including water inflatables and games for children.
2. Kourion Beach – Blue Flag
Located by the Episkopi Bay, Kourion Beach is a 1 km long coast that is particularly striking with its natural palette of colours, and a regal and ancient history.
Its designated swimming area has an exceptionally wide shore, comprised of sand and pebbles. The seawaters are crystal-clear and varying shades of blue that beautifully contrast with the surrounding white hills. Windsurfing can also be enjoyed here.
One of the island’s most famous archaeological sites – that of ancient Kourion – is close by and well worth a visit, especially for its magnificent Greco-Roman amphitheatre where cultural events are still held to this day.
3. Dasoudi Beach – Blue Flag
Located in Germasogeia – the heart Limassol tourist area. Dasoudi Beach stretches 1km and provides everything for the perfect day out, and is the town’s most popular coastal strip.
The beach has golden sands, and clean and calm seawaters that deepen fairly quickly.
The beach has a small forest (‘Dasoudi’ in Greek) running adjacent to it with a beautiful footpath trailing through it. As such, it is a favourite for strolling, jogging and relaxing on the periodic benches.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking available, and a bus stop located nearby.
4. Castella Beach – Blue Flag
Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in Limassol, the beach of Castella is a narrow, sandy and pebbly coast, set amidst the greenery of trees.
The beach and its clean waters are divided between the quieter sections, and those that centre around the popular beach bars, drawing in the younger crowds with beach parties and live DJs.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking facilities available.
5. Parekklisia Beach – Blue Flag
Located in Parekklisia, the 400-metre long Community Beach is one of the few beaches in the area that is abundantly sandy.
Its sands are complemented by seawaters that are clean and shallow, making it ideal for families with children, although the sea tends to get wavy in the afternoons.
The beach is also popular for walking and jogging.

6. Akti Olympion Beach – Blue Flag
Located at the start of Enaerios pier, the beach of Akti Olympion A is a continuation of the Akti Olympion B beach, and together they form a 2 km strip that is considered to be one of the most accessible and convenient in the town of Limassol.
Comprised of a dark grey sands and clean waters, the sea here remains calm, thanks to a breakwaters on the adjacent promenade, making it suitable for all, including families with children.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with a pedestrian zone and cycling lanes, as well as car-parking facilities.
7. Governor’s Beach & Kalymnos Beach – Blue Flag
Located by Pentakomo village, about 10 km east of the main hotel district of Limassol, the famous Governor’s Beach is one of the most popular coastal areas of the island, and is characterised by chalk white rocks that extend into the deep blue sea.
Comprised of two parts (Governor’s and Kalymnos), the first section of Governor’s beach has dark grey sands and uneven surfaces, whereas the second section (Kalymnos) – which lies around 200 m west of Governor’s beach – is replaced by flat ground and a long, narrow stretch of sandy coastline. Both boast calm, clean seawaters and provide a fantastic setting for walking amidst nature, as such they are popular with all, including families with small children.
Access is easy by car via the A1 motorway, and the area has car-parking facilities available. The beach also offers disabled access.
8. Aphrodite Beach – Blue Flag
Located in the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in the district of Limassol. Aphrodite Beach is quiet and relaxing with a long sandy shore of pebbles and dark grey sands, and a coastal footpath lined with acacias, eucalyptus trees and oleanders.
The seawaters are clean and the coast gives way to a lovely grassy area with shade provided by further palm and eucalyptus trees.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking facilities available. The beach also offers disabled access.
9. Miami Beach – Blue Flag
Located in Agios Athanasios – in the centre of Limassol – Miami Beach is small in size but offers many facilities, as well as the relaxing view of athlete’s canoeing, sailing and dinghy training, thanks to the two nautical clubs with premises on the beach.
The coast of dark, grey sands and calm, clean seawaters sits in the heart of the city and is surrounded by restaurants and hotels. Breakwaters protect the sea from winds, although it can become wavy in the afternoon. The beach is adjacent to the more crowded Dasoudi Beach.

10. Loures Beach & Vouppa Beach – Blue Flag
Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in Limassol, Loures Beach & Vouppa Beach are a stone throw away from each other, and attract swimmers all year round thanks to its clean calm seawaters.
Many of the five star hotels are located by this part of the coastline and many facilities are on offer.

11. Onisilos Beach – Blue Flag
Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in the town of Limassol.
Onisilos Beach is a lovely coast comprised of fine, white sands and some pebbles. Its clean seawaters are protected from winds by breakwaters.

12. Aoratoi Beach – Blue Flag
Located in Pyrgos area of the Limassol district, Aoratoi is a beach of particular natural beauty and an unusual coastal character, which is flanked by prestigious hotel accommodation.
Taking its name from the Greek word ‘invisible’, the area is quiet and tranquil and largely untouched with acacia and eucalyptus trees offering shade in the summer, whilst in the early autumn, the white sand lily flower blooms right on the beach.
Access is easy by foot, bike or car with car-parking facilities available. A 14 km trail that begins at the beach connects all the central beaches of Limassol.
13. Armonia Beach – Blue Flag
Located at the famous coastal resort of Agios Tychonas in Limassol, the beach of Armonia is a narrow strip of sandy shore that gradually widens towards the west, with clean seawaters that are protected from winds.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car with car-parking facilities available.
14. Santa Barbara Beach – Blue Flag
Comprised of sand with some rocks, the clean seawaters are further enhanced by an artificial reef, with the ancient Amathounta port offering excellent opportunities for snorkelling. There is a scenic footpath that leads westwards, passing the ancient city and the port of Amathounta.
